Hey y'all,
My 77 has been making a terrible noise when the cluth is pushed in so I decided to put in a new throw out bearing. After I got into it, I realized that someone had done some "custom" work to the bell housing. The tube that the splined shaft runs thru that is attached to the bell housing has been replaced. It looks like someone welded a piece of pipe in place of the factory tube and it was not lined up corectly. It was welded to the cover (looks like a washer that attaches with 2 screws) on the rear side of the bellhousing and was a little crooked. The tube has worn thru on one side and I would like to correct this. Anyway, I am looking for a source for this tube so I can replace it, or am I going to have to get a new bell housing? Thanks in advance for the help.

Keith

You can get from Agco but be sitting down when they tell you how much. I have a couple good used one here at my yard. You can email me or call 585-335-9274. Hope this helps, Charlie

The tube used to be available seperate, of course so were a lot of other parts. Do some measuring as that tube presses into the housing with a light press fit. It may be a standard O. D. Now a word of caution: Gas and diesel bell housing look alike but they are not the same. If the casting number on your bell housing starts 1K5** it is the same as an 88. Right now it has been a long day and the mind is not working at 100% and I can not remember if they are the same. The washer with the 2 screws was (is) a retainer that holds a felt seal in place. Good luck. Questions?

Howdy-should be able to purchase that part at an AGCO dealer.
