Did Oliver make a road grader out of any of their tractors? I have run into one and was wondering if it is a misfit or an actual factory tractor.

I have a Oliver 70 grader I purchased out of Canada this past fall. I am in the process of trying to find out the correct color to paint it and also what type of grade is on the tractor. The only other 70 grader I have ever seen was at Ollie Schafers.

In C.H.Wendel"s book Oliver Hart-Parr on page 210
is a picture of a Oliver 70 made into a grader.

A Oliver collector has two Super 88's. They were owned by Eau Claire co. in Wisconsin. They looked like a Super 88 with a grader on the the front. They also had a few other machines of interest.

I have a picture of an Oliver 70 grader that showed up on a local dealers lot several years ago. It looked a lot like the Huber that was used by our local towm for grading roads. The machine looked great and must have been built by a firm that built graders and used the 70 as the power unit.

I imagine Oliver furnished the power unit for someone like Trojan or Huber who built the grader unit. Olivers were bullet proof compared to high torque loading other manfacturers could put into their drivelines. Huber-Warco used Oliver transmissions and rear ends in their model 4-D motor graders which were the first full hydraulic (not PTO gear box driven) full size motor graders from 1958 through at least 1963 ( I have several) which had various power units (An IHC 4 cyl which started on gas and switched to diesel and a 4-71 Detroit Diesel and some type of Cummins)

My son gave me a picture of a Super 88 that was a type of Grader. The other company would have put the unit together.
