Oliver / David Brown Identification

I have an Oliver? tractor and am unsure of the Model. It has 4 cyl David Brown Diesel engine.
Is this a model 500 or model 600? The transmission is 3speed forward with high/low range. Any information on how to identify this tractor would be greatly appreciated.

it is a 4 cyl. diesel. very rusted and missing lots of parts. any email response to your message?

If your engine is cross flow air intake on oppsite side exaust.thats DavidBrown 990

The 500 was equivalent to the 850 which had a ad4/36 engine. And the 600 was equivalent to the 990 which had a ad4/47 engine. The engine no. should be on the block behind the starter.

I agree that the Oliver 500 was equal to the David Brown 850, which had an AD4/36 engine, but the Oliver 600, as far as I know, was equivalent to the David Brown 950, which had the AD4/40 engine, not the DB 990, which was a later different model. The 850 and 950 were made at the same time (up to middle 60's). The 880 and 990 were their successors. George Cleary
