Howdy- Pulled the tires and rims off my 1850 this weekend. Rims are shot. Calcium and bad valve stems. Last owner used the machine on a patato
patch. Tires were 16.4X38's. Rims were 6 rail power adjust. Bolts and nuts were near fused with rust. Red wrench and penetrating oil did the trick but took over 10 hours of my 'free' time.

I am looking at a pair of 8 rail power adjust rims with tires. Tires are 18.4X38's. Tires, rims, and hubs for $250. Question is, can those rims (Ford) work on Oliver hubs?

If the rims had 6 rails, you could use just the rims on the Oliver centers. I think 6 is more common on 38" rears. Only way to know for sure if they would work would be to measure or trace your bolt pattern and center hole to compare with the Ford rims.

Good idea about the tracing. The bolt holes on my Oliver hubs have multiple holes. We did not use all the holes for the 6 rail rim. So, I believe it might just work. Sure hope so. Looks like the hole pattern on my hubs were set up to accept any number of combinations.

I know a whole lot more about Fords than i do about an Oliver 1850, but I'm betting not.

Seems to me that the inside diameter ought to be universal. I loooked at new P.A.R.s and the manufacturer did not mention brand names, just the number of slide rails.

Are the slide clamps similar to Olivers on your Fords?

Thanks a ton.
