Hi All, I"m looking to buy what I have been told is a 1970"s vintage Oliver tractor with a forklift mast on the rear of the tractor.

There appears to be a 3, 4 or 5 speed transmission on the unit and a lever that one can move forward or bacwards (thru a "neutral") to go forward or backwards. The shifter also has a neutral. I was also told that the drive wheels are driven hydrostaticly.

The engine is an in-line 6. Numbers off the engine block are 3139 and 180918A

There is a data plate on the opposite side on a flat piece of steel that holds hydraulic hoses with the numbers 852.3717

There is also a second data plate on the same side with:

Funk
revers Omatic
Model RCO
Sn 19593
Spec 670

Can anyone identify this tractor for me??

You can see pictures on my website at

At the top of this page you will see the link
"Oliver
Tractor"
on the left side

Thanks everyone!!

Jim

180819A is the Waukesha part number for a 1550/1555 engine crankcase. The 3139 is the date that the crankcase casting was poured in Charles City. That tells us that it was poured on March 13, 1969, the tractor was probably built in late April or early May of 69.

Thanks bastar, Are you familiar with the tractor / forklift?? Is the engine reliable. Can the unit take a days work lifting and moving loads (3-5,000lbs). I'm looking to move logs around my sawmill property and am wondering how much the unit can lift.

Best!

Jim

You sure the number on the block is correct? From what you describe I think the number should be 160918 not 180. Another question does the engine oil filter point toward the mast instead of the vertical position? The shift lever that swings in an arc is for the reverse -o-torque unit. It is not driven hydrostatically. I THINK you are trying to describe a 2-62 fork lift which would be the same power unit as an Oliver 1550. There was also a 2-63 fork lift.

I looked at the numbers in the images I took of it yesterday (they are on my website at:http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jimgraves/index.html)
again and I'm now indeterminate as to if it's a 6 or an 8. From the pictures the oil filter is vertical and between the 4th and 5th spark plugs (#1 being at the fan).

Can you give me an aproximate year for the tractor, engine make and disp., any other info would be helpful.

Thanks J. I appreciate it!

Jim

I tried to go to your website and it came up page unavailable. Think of a plan B if you want an answer; There should also be another number in the same area on the block. I am interested in that number also.

Hi J, If you will e-mail me at [email protected] I'll send you the image of the numbers. The other number immediately below the 1*0918 number is 3139.

Thanks!

Jim
