Does anybody know where I can get a set of rod bolts for a 40 gas? Agco discontinued them and my Agco dealer's "dealer network" computer only came up with one place that has them, and they only have 2, I'd like to get all 12. Thanks!

If Agco can only come up with 2 you probably will not be able to get any. These were not popular parts and most of the time were ordered from a dealer when needed. I beleive they are a 3/8ths bolt and there is a chance you local machinist may be able to find an automotive bolt that is close enough is could be used. You may have to grind the bolt shank down a bit or ream out the connecting rod but doing either will not hurt as long as the lenght is close enough it will tighten correctly. If you go this way use the torque spec. for the bolt you use. You really do not need the cotter pin holes and castelated nuts since their use has since been deleted in modern applicatins.

Did you check under a Cockshutt number or under an A-C number. Also David has a point. Ask your machine shop what brand of bolts he uses for automotive use. I would do a little more checking. You might not find any with the cotter key holes though. Questions?
