I stopped at my local AGCO dealer today and looked at the service manual for the 2-135 & 2-155 as some of you thought that is what the tach I have is probably for. Service man did not find the blue or white leads. The NOS tach is a 2200rpm version marked green with the pto speed, it does show .1 hr. So I assume the factory tested it, I have 12V power to the 12v post, signal hooked to the little round terminal on the side of the alternator, alternator man says only time they don't work is when the brushes are weak, hooks to the stator do dad. He rebuilt the alt real recently. The hour meter is still showing .1hr, so I know the blue & white wires have to be energized somehow. Alt man says some were crank sensor tiggered tachs. But I would think I should at least be able to make the hr meter count up. Tractor has the good ext. oil pump is why I am resorting to inferior Tach, but what the heck, I would at least like the hr meter to work (nice for service intervals at bare minimum. Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated. What would be a safe ohm reading to have, to energize either the blue or white wire, or both? I would rather find proper wiring diagram than resort to trial and error.
