Hey I was wondering what an Oliver 1855 with front wheel assist and has a Heinkier cab. The tractor has brand new 20-8-38 on the back and 16-9-24 on the front. I know som of you guys are probly wondering about the motor but the motor is a Perkins Diesel out of a 1850, so the motor is good. The guy wants $5500 and then $1200 for a new engine overhaul. I will have to redo the cab and replace the glass in one door because it was busted out, and paint. Any help would be great, Thanks for looking.

I agree with VADAVE. Get that thing bought and home asap. Worry about the motor later.

I'd worry about a $1200 overhaul on a Perkins.

This is just a guess,i would think they used a plane from one of there company's.The same company that made sprayers and planes went in with oliver and was called Bee-Gee. In the movie the rocketer they wrecked one in the begining of the movie. They were used in races in the 30's.

Just my 2 cents.
Don't slow down, don't stop to talk. Grab your checkbook and pay the man. That's a really good price.
Figure it's value at $6700, I just paid that for a 2255 and then paid to get it here, another $1600. Another thought to consider, if you waited to read this. If the engine is running reasonably good you could use a season then swap in a cummins. It already has most of the effort done and, according to SHEP VA, the cummins should just drop in. It may actually increase the value.
