I own one of each. The 3150 is still the original engine while the 3208 had a water leakage problem and I had to replace the engine. At least I got a 200+ hp out of it. The only thing I was told on the 3150 was to replace the bearings at 3000 hours. The former owner did just that and I am now approaching 6000 hours. Looks like new bearings will be on the to do list.

We bought a 2255 about 6 years ago for $4500. The clutch would not release, tires were about shot. It had in a 3208 with about 5800hrs on it. We fixed the clutch and ran it for about 2 years, and had to put a set of nozzles in it because of a miss. We turned up the pump about 2.5-3 turns on the rack. It was running about 225 hp pulling a 5000 gallon (80,000lbs total tractor and tanker) tanker about anywhere in 5th direct/over. Believe me we have hills here in Pa. The clutch would slip ocassionly and this spring the center of the disc got ripped loose. We pulled the engine out and put in a double disc clutch out of a 2-180 and replaced rod and main bearings. We also had to rebuild the PTO twice since we had it. It has been a great tractor and has been used and abused. This is about everything that has been done to it since we had it.

Both tractors came with cabs, but the cabs were in disrepair. The nice thing about the cabs is that they came with the extra fuel tanks which meant you could be in the field longer. The 2wd with the 3150 came out of MN for about 6,700 while the 4wd with the 3208 was a local central WI machine at 10,500. When I was looking for my first one, I placed an ad and got quotes from 3,500 to 12,000. This was over 10 years ago

we have a 74 model with the 3208 and a cab. it is turning 200+ hp. the a/c can be troublesome but cools fairly decent. the cab is quiet for a tractor of that age, even with a 4" chrome pipe. it is a hoss of tractor, will run circles around our 2390 Case.
