I was working on 880 today that i just bought. When I push left wheel brake, the tractor stop BUT It won't release the brake (the pedal is up). I have to put it reverse to release the brake. When I drive backward, I push left brake and It release the brake fine. Does that mean that need to be adjust it or else?
Thanks
Tracy

Hi
If I remember right the 880 has ramps and rollers in it's brakes. Excessive oil will make brakes more aggressive but not ordinarily hang up. (Unless the oil is holding alot of dirt)What is happening is the plates are getting too far apart and getting hung up on the ramps, the springs aren't able to pull them back. You will more than likely need to clean all parts put in new springs (for sure) new balls (if rusty or pitted)Make sure to spend extra time on cleaning the ramps with an electric wire brush.New disks if glazed or worn to much.Another thing to check for is grooves on the ramps that the balls can walk up on and get stuck there, locking your brake until you roll backwards and walk them off.I hope I was some help if you have any questions e-mail or call me. Thanks
:) Jerry
