I have a complete 4-53 out of a 1900 that has the everything. The tractor was broke in two so I have everything from the engine forward including radiator, air cleaners, cast iron grill. Let me know if you are interested. These engines are expensive (just to let you know)and sometimes hard to find.

The 8v would be a real looker.would require hearing protection thats for sure.neibors would know when you were working.think the 4-53 would be enough on the horse farm. not sure I could afford hearing plugs for all the horses putting out hay with it. honeysucklehillhomestead.com Thanks all of you for the inputs, alot to cosider

None of the parts from a 99 would be of any real use. You will want to find the front frame from a 1900 or 1950 and a 4-53 for an engine. You could use this combinaation in the field if you wanted. If you are feeling more energetic, you could swap in a 4-71 but would have to work out the mounting problems. It might be easier to swap in an 8V-53.

Why would a 8v 53 be easier, do they mount the same as a 453??

No guarantee that it would be easier. At least the 8V-53 would be roughly the same length as the 4-53. The 4-71 is substantially longer than a 4-53. The 8V-53 would look very nice with twin stacks. You would need a good pair of noise suppression muffs though.

Start looking for an 8V. They are not very plentiful. They tell me there was one about 50 miles soth of here when they still almost new with 6V. Now they are easier to find. You might also want to price two stroke parts. They are not cheap anymore.
