Frozen steering

I have a late model Oliver 550 with power steering. The weather was cold (10 degrees F) and I started the tractor. Although it started easily, the steering wheel would not budge at all. After several minutes of idling, the steering wheel started to move, slowly at first and then without a problem later. The tractor was not making any strange noises. The next day it was the same thing with the frozen steering wheel.
What is the problem, and is this something that I should be worried about/fix? There seems to be no problem in warm weather.
Thanks

Sounds like you've hit on the problem- the steering gear and hydraulics are frozen, because of water in the system. Change the fluid (probably 2 or 3 times, after running it long enough to get it good and warm) to get rid of the water.

Thanks. We have a warm weather system coming through the area in a few days. I will use the time to change the fluid.
