Had a similar problem with a Super 55, the previous owner failed to replace the 1/4 lock washers causing too much play and only 1/2 the gears to engage. As there are only 2 1/4" bolts holding each yoke these would these would be the place to looh.

Try Maibachs' in Creston, Ohio. The new ones are pricey,150.00 if I recall.Used maybe considerably less.I had one welded one time, just make sure the tines are aligned properly. The welding cost me 15.00.

DID THE WELD HOLD?, I THOUGHT THEY ARE HARDENED. I CONSIDERED WELDING, BUT I WAS NOT SURE....

I used the tractor for a year or two after welding the fork, when sold it was still working. The weld was done by a fulltime welder in the strip mining industry, what type of rod he used,I have no idea.Once welded, ground and polished it was practicly undetectable.

I found my problem the shift fork was broken (part # 1E1629) I welded it with the mig welder, now to install it and see how long it lasts.
I need to do some plowing this weekend.
Thanks for the input guys!
Ray
