A neighbor has a small cletrack with a winch. He had used it 9 yrs ago to pull logs. The old machine looks pretty decent. I pulled it up into the pasture with the log skidder and everything seemed to be free. How do I find out what model it is and determine if i Should make an offer on it? It is a gas machine.

Small is a relative term. A bumble bee probably looks big to a humming bird but it might be small to a bald eagle. does it say Cletrac in the radiator tank or in the grill. Cletracs other than the HG models have the serial number tag on the engine side of the firewall. Is it a 4 or 6 cylinder? Can you get a model number for the engine off the engine?

Yes it says cletrac on the radiator grill. Ill have to go back to get numbers. It is about the size of a d2 cat but not as heavy. the old man said he thought it might be a c6 or something.

How about maybe an AG-6. It will have a F-226 Continental

How much should i pay for this? does it have any value as an antique? thought i might offer him something when i go back. but dont want to pay to much. i was thinking 3 to 5 hundred it looks in way to good of condition to rot away.

Yes that might of been what he said, is this motor 4 or 6 and can you measure the tracks to verify?

Look for a model and serial number tag on the engine side of the firewall toward the manifold side if it is an AG-6

Cletrac is how its spelled, there should be a tag on it that will tell you what it is. Also a picture would help if you can't find the tag.
