The early 2255s had the 3150 Cat, the later ones the 3208.

Plenty of engine in reply to Bo in Maryland, 11-15-2004 06:54:55
from what I'm told. The engine is not one of the most reliable CAT engines. However if well maintained it is a good engine. I've heard a lot of people say that a rebuild at 4,000 hrs is a good idea so I guess I would at least take a look at the bearings if it has that many hours on the engine. I think it is a 140-160 hp tractor. Many people have told me that the engine can be turned up much higher than the tractor can actually handle. I have found one with an AC cab and FWA. I have not made an offer yet and still am not sure if I will. How much is the one you are looking at going for?

The Truck engines were Turbo made 210-230h.p @3000 rpm if you ever work in a truck shop there known as the "YELLOW HAND GRANADE" but just like everythign eles if you keep your rpm down the life can be long. 2400 was the best for the cat"s

where abouts are you located? If you are not going to offer anything for the fwa I was wondering if you could give me the contact? Only if you are not interested. I don't want to take anything away from you, but that would be a cool tractor. Thank you

My father is good friends with the owners son. He isn't really sure if he wants to sell it but he was talking about it. I can email you if this Ohio is close enough and he wants to sell it for sure.

Yeah that would be great if he does want to sell it and only if you don"t want it. I am from michigan and it would work good in the field with my 1900 FWA. Thank you,
Lance
