Those of you that have swapped cummins 5.9's into Olivers, do you use the flywheel, clutch & bell housing from the Cummins?

Yes and no. You use the flywheel and clutch from a factory Cummins powered White tractor like the White workhorse 140 for an 1855, or a White American 60 for a 1655. These are Cummins parts, but you have to get them from the AgCo dealer, because Cummins made them for White.

That is the neat part about this conversion, you can use parts from the Whites that already had a Cummins engine to make one work in an Oliver.

Clear as mud??

Let me know if I can muddy anything else up for ya....

Shep,
Thank you for the reply. I've seen you talk with different guys about the swaps, but never saw any specifics about what parts you used.

My son & I are putting a cummins from a 92 Dodge that had an automatic in it in an 84 chevy crewcab to use to pull a trailer. We are looking for a bellhousing, clutch & flywheel from a Dodge & I thought maybe some of the fwllows that have done the swaps might have those parts left over, depending on what was used for the swaps. Does anyone have any of those parts?

We have a 2-105 white & like the Perkins in it.

THank You,
John

Sorry John,

All my Cummins swaps have been with industrial engines. If you can find someone that has done a swap with a truck engine they surly have the bellhousing and flywheel and clutch left over somewhere, those parts will not work in a tractor.

You might try www.fordcummins.com and see if they have any leftovers, they do lots of truck engine swaps.

Good luck

Check on the "Turbo Diesel Registry", they have a discussion board devoted to Cummins swaps.
