Could anybody give me a clue as to what the model number of an Oliver forklift might be? It looks like a 55 or 550. 4 cyl. gas

Thank you all for your help, you would never have guessed I have been a tractor mechanic for 26 years! 5 years at a White dealership in the 80's and this is the first one of these I have seen. I took in this job assumeing that the clutch would be the same as a 55 without considering the lack of PTO, tractor hydraulics and extra pressure needed for all the weight this machine can handle! According to my parts books, it has the same clutch as a 2-44 Forklift. I finally found a site that had a picture of a White/Oliver 2-44FL that looks like this one. Thanks again for the help.

Arkie Oliver,

1954-58 Super 55 Forklift with a Sherman unit
1958-60 Oliver 550 Forklift with K-D unit
1960-64 Oliver 551 Forklift with K-D unit
1964-66 Oliver 552 Forklift with K-D unit
1966-? White 2-44 FL Forklift with K-D unit

I own a 1959 Cockshutt 540 with a Henry Forklift in reverse very similar to the above with the same 4000 pound lifting capacity.

I have a 1967 White 2-44LL which is an Industrial Oliver model 550 with a Loader Lift (LL). The Fork Lift (FL) version was called 2-44FL. I don"t know what they were called before White bought out Oliver ( if Oliver had a forklift). Hope this helps.

Oliver did have forklift models before the 2-44. They had a 551 and a 552. I think I have also seen pictues of a few Super model forklifts. Other people also made forklift attachments for these tractors too. One was made by Gladden-Hass in Michigan. Hope this helps.
