I called up a guy a few miles away to see if he would sell me his 1650 and instead of saying yes he offered me his Oliver 88 Diesel. The tractor has sat for 10 years since it ran and has a cracked block that was repaired in the past. It is complete and the tin is straight. I might just buy it if he asks a fair price but I don't know too much about them. What is the HP on an 88 Diesel? Any guesses as to what a fair market value would be in Canadian Loonies.

Well if it has the oringal pump on it, the HP is around 50 if it has a roosa-master it my be more. I have an 88 diesel with a roosa-master off a 1750 and its probably puting out 60 plus HP. As far as value I'm asking $2750 for the one I have U.S.

I got a closer look yesterday. It is a 88 row crop that is a little worse for wear. It is all there with only a few small dents but it has sat outside for 10 winters and summers. No rain cap on the exhaust so the engine is likely seized but the oil looks clean. I think I will wait until spring to make an offer by then my shop will be back in order and I can fit in another antique.
