I just had my late 550 Oliver painted and the clover-white paint seems to be quite a bit darker than what was on it? I got it from the AGCO dealer so it should be the same. Anybody else see a difference in the white? Thanks for any comments. Brian

Does anyone a paint code for Clover White from any body shop paint. I'll just repaint before I take off all the masking tape. Thanks for all the replies. I didn't think my eyes were that bad as there is a big difference in the color as I see it.

Different color paint fade in different ways, greens and reds tend to fade darker, whites and some other colors fade lighter. The last factory painted Clover White was 1975, and has faded lighter, that why the new stuff looks too green. I have positive proof. We bought our 1555 new, shortly thereafter somebody who shall go nameless was jumping off the "wrong" side because I (oops) didn't want to walk "all the way around" and caught the "spear" and bent it. We took it off to fix it when we "got around to it", when you put the two spears side by side the one that has been in the shed out of the light for 20+ years is darker and greener that the one that stayed on the tractor, and it's almost never outside overnight. Sorry for being so long winded.

I have said for a few years now that the clover white has too much of a green tint. I am sure Agco fouled that up like they have most everything else. What I did on the last project was mix it about 50% with regular gloss white. It seemed to look better. Dad used plain white on his 550 and that doesn't look right either.

I've used a white called alabaster. It's PPG and I got it at NAPA. It looks white until you get it next to pure white and then you can see a green tint to it. I need to get the number and keep it here at my desk.

MCL, that's the color on my 880 you saw in the shed. What did you think of that shade? WB.

To be honest I didn't look that close. Kind of hard to tell back there.

Worked on the 770 today. Got the "new" input shaft and gear in. Got drive shaft, bell housing, etc installed. Haven't tried to run it yet. Got the gas tank off right now. Run out of time. Going to try to drive it without putting the hyd unit on so I can tell what is going on. Sliced a knuckle open installing one of those &#@! snap rings. Need to get a pair of those snap ring pliers like you have.
