Howdy green boys(the good green). I am an IH man, but was always interested in those big FWA Ollies. Now did those things take half a field to turn around like an IH 1456MFD I drove, or were they somewhat sharper. Just curious because it seems an awful lot of them can be found with the FWA unlike IH, JD, AC, or Ford.

They don't turn as sharp as the adjustable front ends but I know of a 2-85 FWA that is used to plant with a 6 row planter. My 1655 FWA isn't all that bad. Operators book for 1655 lists turning radius for adj front as 138 inches and FWA as 220 inches. All FWA Olivers 1655 and above had the Clark axle so turning radius is about the same. Hope this helps you out.
