I never noticed that I had an altered starter rod until just recently. I have a rod located on the left side of the tractor that I push to engage the starter. Now I see that it is suppose to have a foot pedal on the right side of the tractor. I have the manual and parts book, but no where in these books can I find the starter linkage to see what it is suppose to look like. Can anyone tell me where to find a diagram for the linkage? I guess I'll have to start looking for more parts.

Look on page 4 - 1 of the Super 55 parts book. My book is dated 11-1-57. It is items # 43 though 60.

Hey BA Star in reply to B A Star, 10-19-2004 23:33:29
Howdy B A Star,

Could you please email me at [email protected]?

I'm working on a magazine feature about the Oliver 550 and your name was sent to me as someone who might be able to talk about the 550. I'm looking for comments about the pros and cons of the tractor (I have a 550 of my own and can't imagine any cons, but I need some more opinions than my own).

Thanks for anything you can provide.

Rodney L. Sherman

Thanks BAStar. I will be getting new glasses tomorrow. I don't know how I missed it.
