Daul rears on 1950??

I have gone to larger flotation tires on the front of my 1950 to limit damage to my hay pasture, now it's nose high more than ever. So I would like to replace the single 23.1x34 rears with dual 18.4x38s, these are much more available and this would reduce "compaction"
The question is what I need to look for to bolt up duals???
Thanks
Craig

if yu want bolt-on duals, start searching, because you need the hub that is made for duals. Other wise you can find a pair of clamp-on's. I found a pair of 18.4-38's for $250, bald but good for weight distribution. To switch from a 34 to a 38, you need 38" centers in place of what you have, then a tire dealer can sell you a whole new rim. I would assume no fluid? Pressed steel would also be an option, would lighten it up quite a bit. What did you put on the front? What did it have?

It had 16" rims with truck tires on it when I bought it, I put 750X16 tri rib tires on the front and it really tore up my pasture, so I pulled the 11L-15s off of my "someday" 2-105 project and put them on the 1950 BIG difference, it drives much better with allot less damage, The main reason for going to 18.4X38s is because they are plentiful (used) around here, around here tires have the chance of a very short lifeaspan, and I cannot afford new ones. I did notice the 2-105 has 38s so I guess I need dual hubs and another set of centers/wheels, I hope JDs had the same setup as that's all thats around here!!!

Your best bet would almost be the clamp on's. Their cheaper and you don't have to mess w/ different hubs/ taking tires on & off. Donovan from Wisconsin

we' got 2 sets of the bolt on dual parts

strange thing is the one on the 1955 has clamp on duals ( 34's ) and the part for the bolt on both... first owner just never bought the outside set of cast wheel centers they needed...
