Diesel power unit with White engine

I have a unit that has a White engine in it and was wondering what it might fit. It has UB 8434146 and D-3400 X 305 and C47 on the tag it has a roosa-master pump with 40-3051857 and DBGFC-633-2AIL on it. It is a 6 cyl diesel with distributer mnt on the left side of block or at least that is what it looks like. Appreciate any help identifying it.

As Larry mentioned, this is a Hercules engine built in Canton, Ohio. They went out of business some time ago but are still supported by Hecules Engine Components (http://www.herculesengine.com)down the road in Massilon, Ohio. The D3400 series was an updated replacement for the D298 that were used in the Cockshutt 570 tractors and various military applications. As far as I know, no 'modern' farm tractor ever used the D3400 however it will go into the 570s without any problems. The larger 478 CID (D4800?) Hercules was standard in the 2150 Olivers and I believe the 2-135 White.

I believe this is a 339 CID engine, descendant from the 'Hercules' line. It might fit some larger late-model Cockshutt tractors. It may still be available from TAPCO, Inc.
