Easy question do you turn the adjustment screw in or out to turn down the pump?? I know its the slanted one up by the injector lines. But whats the adjuster down at the bottom of the pump??
Thanks

Have you managed to get the pump adjusted to where you need it? Just curious as I am considering changing an engine over to the Roosamaster pump and would like to know how well yours runs.

Thank you,
A.P.

It runs very well but its an 88 with a pump from a 1750 so it is a little big for the engine

Any chance that you could email me a photo of both sides of the engine? I will post or email you my address if you can. Is the tractor a regular 88 or a Super?

Take care,
A.P.

If you are looking to turn down the fuel rate (horsepower) that screw is inside the pump, accessable through the timing "window" (cover on the side of the pump), or accessable from the top, after removing the cover of the pump held on with three screws. The innards of the pump (and of course, the engine, if the pump is installed) have to be turned to an exact point so the leaf spring screw is facing the hole in the cam ring you are using to insert the Allen wrench.

Turning the screw counterclockwise, a SMALL amount will decrease the fuel rate.

The screw at the bottom is the SPEED ADVANCE. LEAVE IT ALONE, unless you know what you're doing!

I just saw your post below, where you want to turn the SPEED down.

If that is what you're doing, just turn IN the throttle lever stop screw, so it limits the travel of the throttle lever on the pump.

Often, there is a throttle stop on the tractor, also, so the strain of someone yanking on the throttle lever beyond wide-open is not transmitted to the little lever on the pump.
