Hello folks i found an old oliver in a shed today and i dont know too much about it i am an MM Man myself but it looks like it could become a nice tractor when its restored. It is an oliver 60 with a wide front end all the sheet metal is there except the 2 pieces that come up along the side of the dash. It runs really well good oil psi, decent tires, everything seems to be ok on the tractor.. He asking $1000 for it is this reasonable? Like i said dont know much about olivers. Thanks for your help

I paid $1,000.00 for my oliver "60" , with narrow front. From what I understand , the wide fronts are worth more. Not as many around , compared to narrow front. I prefer the 5 speed over the 4 speed. One quick way to identify is look at the shifting lever. The 4 speed has a strait shift lever on the left hand side. The 5 speed shift lever comes out the same place as the 4 speed shift lever. Then it crosses over to the right hand side. The 4 speed has 1 reverse. The 5 speed has 2 reverses & 2 fith gears. The oliver "60" has no hydraulics & no "live/independent" PTO. The oliver "60" will run forever on a gallon of gas.

That tractor is easily worth that. Most narrow fronts go for more than that. The wide front is not very common on a 60. I wouldn't worry about the side panels. There are reproductions out there that look as good or better than the originals.

Sorry, can"t really comment on your side of the pond, but in the UK we would be paying more than that in GBP!!! If I lived over there, my Oliver collection would be at least doubled.
I say go for it. Anyway, on plus side - that price might be negotiable for cash, on the contra - there may be something wrong which you have overlooked. I would go for it.
Regards, RAB
