Sam, yes you can put a hydraulic system on a 77. The unit goes under the steering wheel, you probably have just a cover or a "manual" lift there now. To put hyd on you first pull the PTO shaft out (it's about 5' long), remove whatever is there now, andput on your unit. The pump is on the bottom of the unit and is driven from the PTO shaft that you will put in last. Drop me an e-mail if you need more info. If you know any tractor pullers with 77, 88, Super 77 , Super 88, 770, or 880 ask if they have a unit for sale. They usually take them off to get their tractor lighter.

if the tractor has a mech lift the tranny input shaft is too long. this is covered in the service manual. I didn't remove the tranny input shaft instead cut it in place. a lot of rags under it, ran a vacumn the whole time and flushed the tranny three times afterwards. also an early trans oil change for the next time.
