On the right side of the floor board of my tractor there is a threaded access port just in front of the gear shift lever. I opened the port and could see some gears and some type of fluid. Does anyone know what type fluid this is and how close to the access port opening the level of the fluid should be?

Thanks.

That is where you fill the transmission, final drive and belt pulley or power booster if you have one. The check plug is also on the right side almost straight down from there. Capacity for everthing is a9 quart or lot a lot of farmers did, drail it all out and put the whole 5 gallon pail full in. Questions?

The operators manuals at that time said 10W-30 with additive. The additive has been unavailable for years. Oliver then recommended 80W-90 gear oil. This no doubt has been changed too, but it works fine.
