I just bought a oliver row crop and it has a pair of arms on either side of the transmission which I believe are to raise and lower a plow blade. Does anyone know if this is what they are and if so how are they controlled. I havent found anything that looks like it would run them. Thanks

Smashed toe in reply to Chuck, 09-22-2004 17:29:36
I was riding on our 77 that my brother was using to cultivate with. Leaning on the left fender with my feet on the platform. We came to a water way, he tripped the cultivator, the arm rolled over my left big toe and smashed it almost off.

There is a moral to this story? Don"t have two people on a vehicle designed for one. You learned the painful way. There are many, these days who just don"t understand that these old tractors were not designed with so much safety in mind as the modern machine.
Hope the toe is repairable.

What model? Row crop refers to adjustable track
Where? Over the gearbox or behind the rear axle?
Likely for under-slung equipment needing pto/belt in gear, then operate lever on side of unit to initiate change from up to down or down to up.

Those two arms are for raising and lowering a set of cultivators, there should be a small pedal located by the base of the hydraulic pump.
