I am going to mount a Oliver model 59A loader on my Super 55. I don't want to use my internal hydraulics as I use them for other things. So I want to mount a pump on the front to run the loader. Has anyone tried this on a Super 55 before? If so is there a kit avalible/where?
If not can anyone recomend a specific type/brand of pump to use? Thanks from King Ferry NY.

You need a left hand rotation pump. If you want to do this the scientific way, tell me the size of your cylinders, how fast you want them to go up and at what speed you want to run the tractor engine to do it. Gear pumps are not effecient below a 1000 RPM. I would use a Gresen P-16 or a Commercial Shearing pump that compares to the P-16. Both Commercial and Gresen were purchased by Parker so eitherpump may have new model numbers and some of the products that duplicate each other have probably been droped from the line. You will also need a bracket and a drive kit. A pump that does about 8 or 10 GPM at 1200 Rpm probably will do everything you will want to do. Questions?

Thanks for the info. I am at the early stages right now (planning) The cylinders that are on the loader now look to be in pretty bad shape. I am assuming that they will have to be replaced. They measure about 3ft long with a 2" rams. The loader was originally a trip bucket that was converted to hyd (poorly done) so this has to be reworked with probablly twin cylinders around 16" long with 1" rams. Any idea what the pump may cost? Thanks.

Yes, I've got a couple questions.

Are those vane or gear pumps?

Is one type preferable over the other?

Just curious.

Both the Gresen and Commercial are gear pumps. I would price both of them and since you asked a V-20 Vickers and compare . There are advantages to all three. There are disadvantages to all 3. How well you take care of the unit and what kind of pressures you will be running would be 2 factors to consider.
