Could you tell me the main differences between the 2 Olivers? What is the price range of a good running 550 Oliver still in its work clothes?
Thanks ahead for the info.Red

The early super 55 had some differences from the S55 after about SN 47,000 or so. The early ones had a smaller clutch, lower capacity hydraulics, fewer pto clutch plates, smaller engine, and a few other minor things.

Is this Indianpolis Red? Well, a good running 550 will run you about $4,00-$5,000 in most areas. They are a good machine and much desired for a small utility. ShepFL can give the whole poop on the 550. There is not much difference generally between the Super 55 and the 550. The newer 550s had 155 cubic inches as comapre to Super 55s and early 550s 144 cubic inches. Thus they get about 2 more hp at 35.09 for diesel, adn gas at 35.36 hp. The hydraulics are heavier duty and you will find more 550s with power steering, more rare on the Super 55s.

I am sure you will get a wide variety of prices on the postings.
