Just noticed that anyone wanting to view the HPOCA forum must now have permission to do so.
Wondered what you guys think about it? Do you think this move will help the HPOCA repair its image?

Well Doug my mind is pretty made up. I said before that there were one maybe two chances to straighten this out or the organization would blow away. The winter get together and then the summer show came and went and nothing has been done--I fear the chances are used up. However, if Wenchbender gets elected I will join and try to help pull the club back together.
What do you think the chances are that the existing leadership will come up with a reason to pull him from the ballot? I think pretty good. Given that happens it's over!

Well, I would put nothing past these guys, considering what has already been done to damage the club. The only difference now, is that they will have a real hard time getting away with anything since everyone is watching them very closely. Allen doesn't even look at the HPOCA forum, at least so far. He obviuosly doesn't care about what any of us think.

I think it is a good idea, probably not for the reasons you are objecting to though. My thoughts are that we will be able to consider more pressing issues over financial proposals and club policies that we don't care to have aired in public until they are ready for public consumption. I guess if someone wants to start a thread on a different level there are plenty of other forums on the HPOCA site to use, it wouldn't take long for everyone to figure it out and gravitate there.

Well, the point that those who post must identify them selves is a good idea,,,,but for those who simply want to view the forum being locked out is mainly what I disagree with. It makes it seem like a secret meeting, and I'm sure would turn most anyone off who is considering joining the group.

I hear that since I am a non member at this time,
a few people on HPOCA forum are rather happy I am not able to post. They forget that renewal is not a hard process. I could be back,,,,do you think it's worth it?

Pay your dues for one more year Doug and see were it goes from there. Its bad timing right now to walk away. If peoples concerns are truly with the club, than VOTES are the only thing that can change the way things are. Ya cant vote unless your payed up.Your a longtime member, ya might live a long time wonderin if your vote could of been the difference!!!!

Doug, I go by a different screen name here, and side with you almost all of the time. I am one of the original Renegades. I was next for the closet, but they didn"t know me.

They are just locking out non-members. Just renew. This is the first thing they have done right in over a year.

Reup and help us get Wrenchbender elected. If mine were up now I would reup just to Yank their crank.

Keith

I'd like to know what Wrenchbender stands for before I rejoin. I'm one of those who dropped membership after no explanations were provided for bod actions. Please encourage him to post something where a non member can see it or alternatively post his e mail address for contact.

If you go to the HPOCA website and click on my profile, my e-mail is available there. I had decided to refrain from getting into long discussions here on YT and taking up their space. Thanks, John.

I have not been a member of HPOCA and I probably
never will be. But if I were a member, I'd vote
for you because I can see that you are smart enough to use "there" and "their" in the proper
context..... ;-)

Yes, I know what you mean. I have been on the fence about renewing. On one side, i just don't want to give them any more of my money. its like saying what they did is OK. On the other side,,,,like you say,,,,staying on can change things. This website thing is just a trick to gain more control.

No, actually i think its a good idea as far as the web site goes. Its maybe gonna help weed out the trouble makers and make everybody more accountable for what they say. A lot of people i have talked with on the whole subject agree, the so called "renegades have for the most part been the ones to identify themselves. People who refuse to do so are seen as sneaks hidding something. Now that its a members only, there should be absolutly no reason not to stand behind your beliefs. Sooner or later, everybody who wants to be taken seriously will be forced to identify himself. And with todays technoligy, its not really hard to trace those who want to remain hidden with big words and no merit to back them up.

I agree you should have to register with real name and number to post there. I disagree with nobdy else being able to read it. Trying to hide something which is exactly what the present board loves to do. I am renewing to vote for wrenchbender and see if anything changes.
