The 1750 has a heavier rear end and will have better traction. I find my 1650 to be a little light in the back end as a 1600LB round bale will cause the back end to lift. We used a 1650 with tire chains as our main winter chore tractor for many years. We always had trouble backing away from slight downward dips and getting stuck in heavier snow but my 1850 with the same set of chains is almost unstoppable in the same conditions. The weight loading on a 1750 should be almost the same as the 1850. Use a circulating block heater on your tractor and it will start in the coldest of weather.

They would both be good loader tractors, but if one is a gas, that one would be best in the winter. A properly tuned deisel however shouldn't give to many problems, just plug in maybe 2 hours before you need it (some people use timers), use the pre-heat, and it should fire right up. Both tractors are open center hydraulics, so there really isn't much of a differance.
