Dad had a 1977 2-135. Bought it used in 1979 and traded it for a 170 in 1995. Last dyno check was 176 PTO hp. He had some trouble getting power once. It turned out to be the injection pump. He pulled a 21' disc, 21' field cultivator, 9 shank disc chisel, and 5-18" plow. It would have handled 6-18"s.

They are good tractors if you can afford today's fuel price.

These are excellent tractors. They will do any job you want them to and have a very long life expectancy if you treat them right. Enjoy the new toy.

this one has over 5000 hours and runs great every time we use it it gtes pluged in the nigth before and has 15 min at least to warm up then when we start wroking it we only rev it at 1600 then after about 8 min we open it to 2100 but it will go to 2400 rpm but we dont run it that fast 2100 is good enough....

The only updates I remember having to be done to the 2-135/155 were in the shifting linkage, and parking pawl. DO NOT be moving when you put it into park, the part that breaks is WAY down in the bottom, and hard to get at. Also keystone top ring are allergic to ether, so resist temptation and don't use it. If you throttle back and use the backup torque of this sturdy beast you should get pretty decent gal/hr out of it.
