Recently got an Oliver 77 and was wondering about the gas cap fuel gauge. Grandpa, dad, and uncle claim the three 77's they had about 20 years ago never had that gauge on the fuel cap. Is it an option or aftermarket and how common is it? Thanks.

A company in Ft Wayne, IN made them for many tractor brands during the '50's. Now extinct of course! If it's in decent shape and you want to part with it, would be interested.

Ft. Wayne huh? Only about an hour from me! Interesting. Not wanting to part with it just wondering about it. But if I were how much is it worth?

Believe the Co name was Farmcraft. A NOS gauge for an 88 sold on Ebay about a year ago in the $225 range.

Nice to have; This aftermarket fuel tank indicator should not be hyped up or inflated beyond reality. If you were selling it to a family member it should be sold in the neighborhood of TEN BUCKS. When you twist off the regular fuel cap you can see the remaining fuel level or dip in a clean birch dowel for a more technical fuel volume readout. Don't get to carried away with the add-on feature.

$225! That is half what I paid for the whole tractor! Crazy!

We had gas fuel guage caps on our 66, 77 and 88 but they were after market. I think they came from Tractor Supply. This was in the 50's.
