I recently purchased an Oliver Super 55 along with a 355 Mower. I am trying to attach the mower cable. It seems to go on the left side of the tractor as you stand behind the mower, BUT WHERE? I seem to be missing something and would appreciate your imput.
Have a great day. FarmChap

The cable that you refer to is used to raise the outer end of the cutter bar when in transport. The cable is attached to a chain that has approximately 7 links in it, goes across the rear of mower to the top of a pulley that is located parallel to the rear of the mower, then under a pulley that is on the L.H. side of the frame. Cable goes forward under a pulley that is mounted on a bracket attached to the under side of the L.H. axle housing, attached with the fender bolts. The cable then goes up and has a "U" shaped bracket that saddles the pin in the three point L.H. upper arm. Cable should have slack when in the mowing position to allow the cutter bar to float down and have tension when the mower is raised to raise the outer end of the cutter bar.

thank you for your response. Now whatI need is:1) what do I attach the end of the cable to; 2) what parts do I need
I do not have 1) a pulley to go under the tractor axel or 2) whatever attaches to the end of the cable; and I don"t understand, the "U" shaped bracket, that you mentioned. Is this something additional or do you mean, the "U" part of the lift arm.

If I had your email address, I would scan the pages from the OP manual and send them to you.
