Anyone ever use Dupont Nason paint?? Good or bad?? My Dupont person said this is great for painting tractors. I was asking about Centari, he said this is just as good for a lot less money. Any inputs????Thanks

Nason Fulthane is better paint than acrylic enamel. I use Nason Fulthane on EVERYTHING. I have been told my paint jobs are among some of the best looking.

Just make sure you have the correct reducer for the temp range you are working in.

Don't rush the job either. DO NOT TRY TO HIDE THE PRIMER ON THE VERY FIRST COAT. This is just asking for runs. Spray a good wet coat and let it set until it is sticky and no longer wet. This easy to determine by touching the masking paper with a CLEAN finger. If you leave a finger print and no paint on your finger you are ready for the next coat.

I recommend not using reducer in the first coat. This will prevent solvent pop in the second coat. A gravity feed gun works well with unreduced paint. An HVLP gravity feed gun works even better.

As far as buffing Nason is concerned, it buffs nice BUT, you will have best luck if you do your color sanding and buffing within 24- 48 hours of painting.

The only thing I hear folks complain about is the sticky nature of the urethane used in Nason. I figure the stickier it better is sticks to the surface. You can wear a long sleeve shirt, hat and, plastic gloves to reduce exposure to the overspray.

USE A FRESH AIR SUPPLY FOR BREATHING OR AT LEAST A GOOD FILTER RESPIRATOR AND PAINT OUTSIDE IF POSSIBLE. The activators used in modern paints contain carcinogens.

Jerry, thanks for the info. I am stripping down the tractor (this is about the 100th time) and going to paint it next week.. I hope it turns out good. Thank you for your help.
