We are looking at a 880 that has had the motor replaced with one from a 88. I was just wondering how much real difference there was between the two motors and if the motor swap would decrease the value of the 880.

We pull an 880, when we got the tractor, it had a bad motor...in the process of finding the motor we where going too pull with, we learned that the only diffrence 88, supper 88 an the 880, is all in the head...just a little better breathing on the 880 head...so in our case we did find a 880 working motor, and work that over..u will not see a physcal diffrent by the eye although i have heard about differnt valve covers..plus a slight differnt in hp 53,56,56....or do a little work and 145 :).....mike PA

The 88 (non-super) had a different crankshaft (smaller connecting rod journals). The 880 was rated at 1750 RPM, not 1600 like the earlier ones.
