IF SOMEBODY HAS A NEBRASKA TEST BOOK THAT COULD TELL ME THE MAX RPM'S FOR A 1465 OLIVER, I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT. IT COULD BE LISTED UNDER WHITE OLIVER OR JUST OLIVER.

The book by Larry Gay on Oliver Farm Tractors called a Guide to Hart Parr , Oliver and White Tractors 1901- 1966 says on page 64 that the Oliver 1465 was not tested at the Nebraska Lab .

I'M SURE YOU'RE RIGHT ACCORDING TO THAT BOOK, SINCE THE 1465 WAS BUILT FROM 1972 OR 1973 UNTIL 1974 OR 1975. YOUR' BOOK PRE-DATES IT.

The book I have by Larry Gay has a copyright date of 1997 and covers White Tractor Models long after 1974 up into the 1990s . I do not believe this book "predates " the Oliver 1465 .

Not all of the Fiat built tractors were tested. Now second thing, you have to be able to reach High idle speed, so does everyone else have to reach the high idle speed for the tractor they brough. Do they check you for horse power?

THE RULES SAY STOCK RPM'S MAX & THEY GO BY THE NEBRASKA TEST BOOK. IF THEY CAN'T FIND THE LISTING THEY ONLY ALLOW 2000 MAX. YOU CAN BE LESS RPM'S BUT NOT OVER. I'VE SEEN THEM DQ GUYS FOR 5 RPM'S OR LESS OVER. THEY DON'T TEST HP BUT THEY DO "RANDOM" RPM CHECKS.

This is not your Nebraska Test Spec but instead the official General information from Service Bulletin 430 605, General Information 1465/1470 Tractors. High Idle no load: 2300
Rated RPM: 2100
Low Idle: 650/680
PTO Horse: Power 70
I just found the bulletin again last week
Hope this helps.

SO WHICH DO YOU THINK WOULD BE CONSIDERED THE MAX FOR A FARM STOCK PULL THAT ONLY ALLOWS STOCK RPM'S; 2100 OR 2300?

You need to check out if they go by rated RPM or if they go by high idle no load. All tractors have a high idle speed that normally is about 10% more than rated load speed. This is to make the governor work. In this case 2300, 10% of this 230, rated load speed 2100. Around here they allow 10% over stock RPM.

Oliver Spec or Judgement; See if you can contact the official or judge that will oversee the pull events you will attend. Get that person to commit early to the rpm your beast can run. Line up your beast preparation efforts to his/her statement. Good luck on your dirt pullin' at maximum allowable rpm.
