There is a component missing inside the rear tank. The (ram valve)? that is triggered by the control handle and fastened down with 3 bolts is missing completely. Red Thanks again for the info.

Had the tank res.-cover off today and found a lot of just plan crud in there which I flushed and cleaned out removing most of the plugs on each side. I have sealed it back up and am letting it seal over night. I will add oil Tues. and see if the pump is pumping. Red

The 30 Cockshutt had a live 2 way Hydraulic system. It didn't work well to use for a loader, but will work. The loader should be run from the front outlet on the valve. If you have no pressure from this outlet, i would suspect the drive coupling from the accessory drive shaft. It has a small woodruf key that may have sheared.
Cockshutt came out with a valve that would allow you to drop the oil from the rams dirrectly to the oil tank. Other wise it had to be pumped down
because of the 2 way system.Let me know how you come out on this.

First of all we need to identify what component is causing the problem. Have you take the cover off the hydraulic and made a visual inspection? do you have a parts book or a shop manual so you have pictures to go by? Next step, put some oil in the reservoir a couple of quart should do it. Then unhook the pressure line and stick a hose over it so you can catch the flow in a bucket. There will be a minimum of pressure so even a garden hose or similar hose will work. Start the tractor, let it idle or run up to about 1000 RPM. does the pump pump the oil into the bucket. This will tell you is the pump can pump, It will also help flush the unit. Then let us know the results. Then we can go to step 2. But you will need a shut off valve and a pressure gauge that goes to either 2 or 3 thousand pounds.

Red,
The system has only up pressure. Push the handle forward to raise the arms. You may have a bad pump if there was no oil in the unit. Is there any noise when you move the handle with the tractor running? Remove the under the seat cover and look for moving oil with the tractor running. The 0-Ring on the cylinder may be bad. I have unit 0-Ring kits and Valve 0-Ring kits on stock.
Please let me know when I can assist you further.
