Does anyone know where I could find a power steering cylinder for my '69 550?
I bent one. I'd replace them as a pair if I could find something that would bolt on easily.

Believe it or not, the power steering cylinder from a 1963 - 82 Corvette is virtually an exact match in size, length, rear cylinder connection, etc. They were both originally manufactured by Saginaw and I suspect that Oliver went shopping in their supplier's parts bin when they needed to develop a new style PS system. Note that the only differences are that the port block configuration is on the bottom of the front of the cylinder instead of the top as on the Ollies - no big deal. Your steel lines will thread right in except that you have to switch sides. Also the rod thread on the 'Vette cyllinder is 3/8" male fine thread and the Ollie tie rod end is 1/2" female fine thread. I fashioned an adapter bushing out of a 1/4" piece of steel pipe with not much work. I purchased two new knock offs from a Corvette parts dealer in Bristol, Pennsylvania for $89 each. I don't have the number right now but can find it if you write me (I'll also send you a photo of them). Or, there are several rebuilders who will take your cylinder(s), cut open the end and rebuild the seals and replace the rod and weld the cylinder closed for around $100 each - but you'll be down for a while. In any case, check around the Internet for Corvette parts for the years mentioned and you'll find what you need. Write to me for help - I've been there done that!

I know a dealer that has rebuilt them. I have also seen shops make new cylinder rods. That may not be a first choice but it could be an alternate repair. I have also heard they are available again, however I have not had a chance to check that out.
