Can anyone tell me, with reference material or an educated guess, what an Oliver 2255 and an Oliver/MM G-1355 weigh? Any figures are helpful, but I would be looking to get one of them down to 12,500 pounds or under by running without fluid, removing cab, etc. Both are 2wd versions.

Thanks and regards.

I can verify the weights of four different 2255's on my families farm in east central Indiana. The first two are the workhorses. Both have cabs with a/c and loaded firestone 18.4x38 tiresbut no other weights. They each weigh in at 16,500 lbs with 220 lb driver. The third one also has an a/c cab with 18.4x38 Goodyear tires NO fluid or weights weighs in at 14,650 lbs.The last one is an open platform, fender mount fuel tank equipped, has 20.8x38 firestones on steel dished planetary wheels used for local pure farm tractor pulling. It weighs with same driver 11,250lbs. Your biggest obstacles are the cab and the rear castings to get to 12,500lbs with either 2255 or a G-1355 tractor.Any more questions fire away?

I used to pull an 856 IH in the 13,000 lb farm class. My main competition in the mid 1980's
was Welters Farm Supply from Verona,MO with a G-1350 MM LP.It had a NF and 20.38's and I think they had some movable weight at 13,000.

With a little work you can make 12,500 with a G-1355.

My book says the G-1355 weighs in at 14,100 and the 2255 weighs in at 13,500 from the factory. I have never weighed my G-1355, but I would say that figure is light for my tractor with duels and a canopy.

You would have to strip one down pretty far to get it under the 12,500 for pulling.

Good luck

My G-1355 weighs in at 14,300 pounds with a cab, no weights on the front and 18.4 X 38 tires dry. I would guess that with that massive engine on the G-1355 you will not get it to 12,500 lbs.

I don't know of one from Fostoria but the guy from Findley was down to the 11,000 Lb class. He had alot of aluminum on it and the front was real light.

My 2255 with cab and loaded tires weighs 17,460. This is 2wd without the duals on it.
