I have two Oliver 550's and both need PTO clutches. One needs seals to keep the transmission fluid from leaking through the PTO side of the tractor. I am not a professional mechanic nor anywhere near one but I do have mechanical ability. Would I be over my head to try to fix these problems? I have the repair manual and have limited tools. your advice will be greatly appreciated. Allen.

My 2¢ is I would go for it. I am in the same boat as you. I have tinkered with cars growing up, learned to weld, have accumulated tools as I do projects, but not a first class mechanic. It's a great learning experience. However, I don't have to use my tractor for work. I can let it sit until I have time to work on it. Do you have the big manual, the three volume one, or do you have the I&T manual? I would suggest the big one for novices like myself. Work safely when you split the tractor and don't take any shortcuts on making sure the tractor is supported well. The guys o this page, Larry Harsin's or any number of Oliver pages can help you with your questions. Good Luck.

Where could I locate the 3 volume repair manual? I only have the small one. Thanks for the response super 55!
