My 880 gas, has been dying whne it gets hot. About 1-2 hr into running her at heavy load it starts to miss then runs real rough and will eventualy die. If i let it cool for a bit it will restart and run for a while. Any thoughts?

Nothing worse than changing parts wholesale and finding no improvement for $ invested.
First check whether problem is fuel related or ignition or mechanical related.
Tank vent clear? No floaty crud in the tank slowly choking the tank outlet? Simple check is to run fuel from carb for at least a minute when the problem occurs. A full continuous flow is needed.
Check that all service tolerances are correct.
Check colour of plugs.
Check points gap and timing.
Check for colour of spark (compare colour when cold and when problem occurs. If it changes from a hot blue to weak yellow colour, try changing the condenser. First possible outlay and much cheaper than a coil.
Check all connections in the ignition circuit and if everything checked so far is OK, then buy the correct coil replacement for your tractor and try that. Could well be the coil which is going bad, but ..... might be something else - diagnose first!!

I'd first replace the coil. It may be breaking down when it gets hot and straightens itself out when it cools off. Not too uncommon. Another thing to check is your electrical system. If your battery is not being recharged, it could act like that. (ask me how I know-LOL) While this could be your problem, I'd think it would run longer than an hour or 2, but that may depend on how strong your battery is to begin with. oleblu
