I've probably asked this befor but my 880 diesel has a roosa pump. I don't have a book that states how to time the roosa pump to the engine. the IT manual says 880 timing is 25deg befor TDC. I lined up the marks in the pump with the flyweel pointer on 25deg is this right? Thanks

I guess I could look up the correct dimensions. The Bosch was timed to the start of injection, The Roosa to the end of injection. That is why the difference. Luther is not off much it will run timed that way.

Hey J., it runs really good at that setting, will it run better at the 25 degree setting? Also ,I read on the pulling website on here about a guy running 3850 r.p.m. out of his stock motor it that possible without a major meltdown? That just sounds damn near impossible to me . After all the work I've done to the thing, I just can't see taking a chance on blowing the bottom out of it, you know? Thanks For the help!

Well I strongly would recomend not running over 3500. Do what you feel is safe. We are really pushing this motor to see what it will take to try and get an idea what are other motor might stand. This winter we are going to swap motors to a turboed 880 motor. It has had extensive work done on it though. It is made so it "SHOULD" hold together. What model Roosa pump are you running?

Mine I think was too line the marks in the window on the pump and the pointer was on tdc. Not sure maybe try that.
