Hi, I bought a '53 Oliver 77 at an auction with the engine stuck. The tractor is about 90% complete, just missing the side panels and the carburetor. Took the oil pan off today and found out why it hasn't run in 15 years. The connecting rod on the #2 cylinder is folded into a pretzel. It must have been run out of oil or something. I don't know if it hurt the crank, but the rod did not touch the engine block or the camshaft. I am wondering if it would be more worthwhile to part this tractor out or fix it. Is there any demand for 77 RC parts? What are your opinions? Thanks, Jeff

Sounds like you just need a rod and a carb. Also clean and inspect the other engine parts for damage and you should be in business. In my opinion you should fix it.
