Been reading and I think the 1755, 1855 and 1955 have the same frame and transmissions. The only difference being the power from the engine. Am I right?

Not exactly. There are changes behind the transmission.

Behind he Transmission? Physically? Is the PTO different or the 3 point? Or is the rear end gearing different?
I'm not trying to be difficult but if I need parts what can't be swapped?

Dave, I am not trying to be difficult either, but there are differences in bull pinons, bull gears, bearings etc. axles. If you took an experieced Oliver mechanic and you had say a 1755 apart on a pile and a 1955 in the same situation he would be able to pick out which parts went to which tractor. Another example. 1650 good tractor, If you had a 1967 model and you purchased a 1966 model for parts, the ring and pinons are different and if I remember correctly a few other parts are too other than the big change in the diesel engines. I was driving the boy's 4020 and when I was past my neighbors yesterday I started to compare his 4020 to the one I was driving. There is about 1-1/2 years difference in their ages. It would take a whole page in a tablet to lit all the parts that are different. Major parts like blocks and heads to small parts like the handle that engages the PTO. Like I said the big differences between a 1755, 1855 and 1855 are behind the transmission. All the manufactures make improvements. The first one off the assembly line of a given model is very seldom like the last one of that model off the line. Questions, send me a PM on thew HPOCA web site and I will talk to you.

We had our 1755's busted rear end swapped with an 1855 a while back, and the axel housings were longer on the 1855 so I would asume the axels are longer on the 18&1955's. I know some 1955's were equiped w/ cat III 3 pt w/ external cylinders. I think for the most part they are the same parts, if not year to year if not model to model. The gearing didn't seem any different, although the 3 pt seemed a little different for one reason or another. The Pto should be the same. That reminds me I still have to get my 1000 stub out of my 1755 for our new 1855.
