I just got a `53 Oliver 66 Rowcrop to restore and I understand a powerlift was an option. What exactly does this "powerlift" mean?
Thanks in advance for any response!

I have an extra one, willing to sell it to you. Currently parting out a 66. Used for cultivators, mounted picker on the 77 and 88, front mounted planter and other mounted implements.

Rick, were abouts are you located. I have 2 or 3 of the 66 pedestals with hubs for tin wheels.

The "powerlift" raises and lowers pipe implements, such as cultivators, mid mount planters. I've always called it the cultivator lifter but "powerlift" would be the proper term. The powerlift came around long before hydraulics. I believe the 18-27's would have been the first Oliver's w/ Powerlift. Now even after Hydraulics were developed some farmers opted to stay with the powerlift set up on their new tractor. So this why sometimes you will come across a later Oliver w/ the powerlift. With the "powerlift" the primary function of the cultivator handles is depth control.
