First of all a thank you to Jake for advising me how to free my locked up transmission on the tractor I just bought in the field. It is now on the move but in checking the oil it seemed dry. I put 2 gallons in and noticed it is coming out at the PTO adjustment plate on the bottom. Any ideas as to what needs to be done to correct this problem. Allen

Unfortunately you may be looking at new clutchs disks as well. there are I believe 5 carbon type disks and 4 steel disks in the PTO clutch housing. You have gear oil going through there, so its likely on the disks. Pricey but if you see tehm burned or oily, they are short lived.

The PTO shaft seal/seals are the weakest link on these models.Involves "z" splitting the tractor to repair. You really need the proper manual before attempting this repair.I suggest you replace all of the PTO seals, and gaskets at this time, and check the related bearings and PTO clutch also.Rather than "z" split it again shortly down the line.By the way Transmission sounds so much better than Tranny.

Thanks for your help RockinB! I am not a great mechanic but I must try to do this. The Oliver deserves a new lease on life.

I went the Agco route on seals & bearings.
The seals that they sell for replacement partsare very cheap. I took my old seals & bearings to Auto Parts store & had them crossed over. They got me seals & bearings comparable to what was in the tractor. Some of Agco seals were not even worth bringing home. Just my 2 cents worth ??
I would replace all PTO bearings & seals because it is low in rear housing. If there was ever any moisture in rear end it got to the bearings. Don't forget to replace PTO O-Ring at the rear of PTO shaft. I had the grease out of mine 3 times before I found this problem.
