I have a TSX 775 550 carb. that is leaking gas unless gas valve is shut off. It also is dumping way to much fuel in engine. Fouled the plugs and the engine oil even smells like it has some gas in it. ??
Do I try & Kit it buy a rebuilt unit or a new one ??
I need to get it going again !! If you think a Kit will work, what brand & where do I get it ???

Thanks in advance for any help
Kenny

Yes a kit should fix it. BUT WHY?
First find out what is causing the problem.
Basically two things, float valve or float.
Valve may simply need cleaning or lapping. Float may need repairing, or hinge may be tight.
Why spend $25+ when you have to take it apart anyway, and zero cost is a possibility. Of course it may have worn spindles and other issues which need to be addressed.
