Help,

I have an Oliver 1550 gas tractor. It wants to cut out after it has been running for 30 minutes or so. Choking it heavy will keep it going for a short time. It will go through a spell like this and then run fine for an hour or so. Shutting the tractor off for several minutes will help. Once it takes off, it may or may not run for a while. Took gas tank off and cleaned it. Cleaned gas lines, filter, sediment bowl, tank outlet valve, carburator, etc.. Replaced the coil and that seemed to help.

I noticed at night that a blue flame will appear at the top of the muffler just before it starts to act up.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bob

It seems like you've done all the right things to figure it out but just in case, check your gas cap. My 1650 did exactly the same thing until I found and removed some dirt in the gas cap. The cap contains a small hole used to vent the tank and if it gets clogged, the mixture gets leaner and leaner until it quits. Hope this helps!
